Arlington Place Renovation Comes To An EndThe Messenger Daily News
POCAHONTAS,IA (Dec. 21, 2005) - A new renovation to upgrade the facility and provide better service to the community. Arlington Place was established in 2000 as an independent living facility, but soon outgrew itself and found more of a need for assisted living capabilities. This would include a 24 hour staff, 3 meals a day and many more amenities, but in doing this requires a very complicated renovation to the structure.
James & Associates, a construction company from Sauk Rapids Minn., who first constructed the building, performed the upgrades to the facility.
The building had to be completely separated in half from the ground up through the roof to assist a two hour firewall which went through multiple tenant units and other common areas.
This was no easy task with the entire building still full of elderly tenants who cannot handle dust, noise, temperature changes, etc.
Other modifications included are adding a full commercial kitchen with range hoods and ansul systems, adding a dry sprinkler system to the garages and updating all doors and mechanical equipment to comply with fire codes.
The staff and tenants were pleased with the whole construction process, and said that the construction supervisor always kept them aware on a daily basis and were very clean and courteous.
